Cadence Love

Cadence is six years old.  She has Brachio-Oto-Renal Syndrome which is a hearing loss & deformities.  As a result she was born premature due to end stage renal failure.  After enduring dialysis three times a week in Albany, at the age of two, she received a kidney transplant  at Childrens Hospital Boston and received her kidney from her Daddy.  While she is deemed “healthier” now, a transplant is not a cure.  It is a temporary miracle.  Eventually she will need another kidney, the cycle will repeat itself.

Her family is blessed that she is in good kidney health but there are daily struggles to keep her immuno suppressant drugs at acceptable levels to ward off rejection.  Because she is immuno compromised, even the common cold usually puts her in the hospital very ill.  Recently she spent 3 weeks at Albany Med battling pneumonia. Besides perfect health, her family wouldn’t want her any other way.  The feel blessed to have her.
