The Polar Bear Jump
History
The Goodyear Lake Polar Bear Jump
is a fundraising event to help children, individuals and organizations
in need. The event, which takes place in February , on Goodyear Lake,
outside of Portlandville, NY, dares you to join the jump club or even
come watch the fun.
The event first started in 1996 with 11 jumpers and
last year there were more than 400 people who dared to take the plunge
for a great cause. Last year over 80,000 dollars was
raised thanks to the many fine businesses, organizations and
people like yourself who donated their time or money to help
this wonderful cause.
The 2011 Polar Bear Jump Recipients are selected. See the
recipients and their home pages under the recipient tab
located on
the home page.
Think you are interested in jumping? You must call Brenda
Waters at 607-286-7101 to get a password to download the
jump packet, which is located on home
page. The reason why we do this is for an accurate count for
the number of t-shirts we will need for jumpers. Remember
you must pre-register with Brenda before you can jump!
This year, we hope to exceed last year not only in total
dollars raised but also jumpers as well. Your dollars can
help make a difference.
Thank you.
